Primary Shredding Before Grinding

High speed machinery can be damaged by metals and other materials entering them. They also work best when they are fed consistently sized materials at a controlled rate. The best way we know of to optimize a wood grinder is to install a PRI-MAX® reducer in front of it. Its faster and more efficient than pre-crushing with an excavator, and it can be set to feed the grinder at just the right flow rate to optimize the processing line.

Energy

Broken pallets, skids, crates, cable spools, boxes and C&D debris can all be size reduced, then recyclables and metals can be removed prior to being used as an energy source at a paper mill or power plant.

Volume Reduction

Large items need to be downsized prior to further processing, sorting or transportation to make them more manageable. PRI-MAX® and Dual-Shear® machines are ideal for this kind of application.

Primary Shredding For C&d Recycling

SSI PRI-MAX® technology is flexible and works best when its bulk loaded . Operators count on PRI-MAX® to meter feed their MRFs and ensure the material is sized small enough to be well liberated so metals and other items can be sorted, but large enough so items are still recognizable and there aren’t many “fines”.
